After advice on rear seat luggage

Hi all, I'm intending to fit a mustang tripper seat to my machine and I've currently fitted a Dowco large roll bag to the rear carrier. I'm after some ideas, if anyone is able to help on a reasonably large bag that will sit on the rear of the saddle and attach to the grab rails or passenger backrest.

    Cheers Chris

You don't wanna be hauling all your bags like a pack mule, get one with wheels!

I just got this, which will double as a carry on bag on airplanes... can't say I tried it on the bike yet

    Kuryakyn Gran Tour

I've been using a Kuryakyn. Gran Tour bag for the past few years on every long trip I've taken. I place it on the passenger seat and use the attached straps to attach it to the grab bars. It's a very durable bag with a semi-rigid structure. It's travelled with me from Maine to Key West to the Rockies and still looks new.

Almost ten years ago I purchased a "Cruiser Bag" from a company in Canada. Unfortunately they are out of business. I was waiting for someone to resurrect their "Round Hard Bag Design". Looks like you have found it. Mine is manufactured from 13" diameter PVC Pipe and covered in Black Vinyl. It has a adjustable back rest which attaches with Velcro Straps. It is the best after-market bike item I ever purchased. I ride solo so the bags stays in place with its Nylon Straps.

    Here's a pic for clarity

It was the PVC tube that made me decide this is the one.
I am assuming that you got the XL when you had bought yours.
That is what I believe I am getting.
The backrest mounted to it is a plus.

My PVC tube is 20" wide and solid as a rock! I've used it on five different bikes without any mounting problems! It was advertised as "universal fit" and it sure turned out to be true. I can slip a 24 pack of soda or beer into the bag with ease. The quick release adjustable backrest it great for highway cruising and with the bottom rolled up, it provides great Lumbar support. Lots of luck with your purchase. Give a update on how you like the bag

I have a Biker's Friend and a Dowco Main Bag

I have the largest biker's Friend and when I started packing for a trip a while back I realized that this thing is too heavy and round as it wants to roll back and forth with the motion of the bike. However, it is so strong that a fat guy could sit on it with no problem.

I then ordered a Dowco Motorcycle Luggage System - Main Bag and I love it.
In the photo you can see that it is about the same size as the largest Biker's Friend maybe a little smaller. It comes with a waterproof cover which I threw away because it really isn't necessary. I road through heavy rain day after day and all I noticed was the edges of some papers I had on the bottom had absorbed a little water.

    My theme song:

On the f'n6b I used ROK Straps to secure it. Which I hope you can see on the photos as I'm preping for a long trip in mid June. It is secured in two independent methods on each side in case of a problem. Here is the link to Amazon. And the beauty of it is if you hate it Amazon will take it right back.

    Enjoy!!
