Actually there is (sadly) a lot of truth in that statement. There is quite a contrast between northerners and southerners; when it come to friendliness to strangers. I've been all over the country (as many of you have) and the difference is quite palatable.

This is one of the many reasons why me and the wife are heading south in 10 years when she retires. We just don't know where to go as of yet.

I had lake property in Paris TN for about 20 years. Small town , about 7 or 8 thousand people. They had a courthouse square with benches. Bunch of 3 hundred year old trees for shade. Any Saturday morning you could eat at one of the cafe's and then sit in the square and visit. Even though I was a visitor , people would talk to you like they had known you for years. Yeah Will , its different.
