Hmmm, where's Penn and Teller when you need em? That needs to go on their "Fool Us" show. I'm thinking the sizes are changing based on the rearrangement of the beveled cut pieces...but...
Do your Best and Miss the Rest!
Watch how the tiles no longer line up after the unnecessary cut in the video at about 35 seconds in. He's swapped some pieces.
It goes from having 9 rows to 10.
True it don't line up properly. I stopped the vid at every move, but I never counted more than 9 rows. You will also notice it is a sloppy fit in the box and when you remove the pieces the slop is evenly divided throughout the box so it appears as if it is the same size. take a look at some of the other vids of the same puzzle and you can see this more clearly, especially the one done with the candy bar and ruler measuring the square volume of the mass. I wondered about the break in the vid and if something was switched as the containment box goes out of frame and the fact you never get to see a straight on look of it, only a view from a slanted angle when the parts are removed.
Nice optical illusion IMO.
Here are a few more.

Think I have images 2, 3 and 4, but #1 isn't jumping out. #2 is pretty cool.
