Okay now this may sound weird but I've always wanted to put a whiteboard on one of my bikes. Because of how I drive I often figure things out at the last minute or on the road and prefer to write them down on a piece of paper or in this case a whiteboard, so check out what I did. I got the Whiteboard myself ( the old kind with hard cardboard backing) the elastic is from an old ski goggle and on the one side of the loop for the string, that's just a nail with string taped on it to give that loop, and then you slice a hole in the other side.
