No, not neccesarry. But I did have a professional do it!

I did something similar to my previous bike that really helped with it getting seen at night, but in the day it looked like a normal stripe. There is a company that sells these hi-vis wheel tapes...they come in all kinds of colors

    Pics..

Looks good! I also like the idea of the reflective properties as it may make me a bit more visible at night in an intersection to the vehicles that are 90° to me.

That red stripe looks really good on your super-go-fast-red bike too. (My bike is also the super-go-fast-red color). I just found the receipt on the ones I put on the NM4, I thought they might have been from the same company but they are actually from a place called Custom Taylor 33. Looks like they added their hi-vis decals to all sizes of wheels, and added helmet and tape stripes to their options. Link to customtaylor33 here if you want to take a peek.

This is my third bike I have done this to.
My Buddy pinstripes cars like the old school hot rods. I had him paint them on.

Ebay. They can print any text you want. Don't remember any more which vendor it was but there are several if you do a search. Just be sure to order the correct wheel diameter.
