    F6B stereo playback options available

I thought I would share how I use my stereo on the bike.

I find that because of the ride duration, weather, or lighting conditions (day or night) I will wear either a full face, 3/4, or 1/2 helmet. With each helmet I have different stereo needs to make the sound best for the helmet.

I prefer to wear either the 3/4 helmet but sometimes need the 1/2 helmet in high heat for comfort. I wear the full face in cold, wind, night or rain conditions.

On long trips I may go through all of these conditions so I need to be prepared for anything. I used to ride long trips with the bike stereo for music or radio and use my phone on Bluetooth to give me the GPS and phone calls as needed. I now have the USB receiver to play anything the phone can deliver through the bikes stereo. I also have the Bluetooth transmitter and receiver to play the bike or the phone directly to the helmet speakers.

Please let me know if you have options I have not mentioned or better ways of doing what I did mention.

    Thanks, Steve

I don't have any of the OEM stereo electronics on my bike anymore. The Clarion head or source unit I have has Bluetooth for anything I have on my phone, usually I heart radio and or Pandora.
    It has Sirius XM.
A USB input in my left fairing pocket along with an output I use to plug in the Sena SM10 Dual Transmitter.

I have the Sena SMH10 headsets and also have the one of the Sena clamp on my modular that allows me to plug in ear buds if I choose, or just use the speakers in the helmet. One of the reasons I got this clamp , besides the ability to use ear buds, was the separate boom mike for my modular. I had used a regular clamp first, but putting the chin bar down and getting the mike set was awkward.

A good set of earbuds hooked through the Sena sounds pretty good. The regular helmet speakers not as much.
The stereo on my bike , though, sounds pretty freakin' good, so I really don't see me using the headsets much for music with the exception of long Interstate traveling which I don't do much of. I like the twisty back roads.

Hey Jimmy, I must've missed that part of your stereo upgrade thread...didn't realize you completely swapped out the OEM head unit also. How does all of that fit/work with the dash display, handlebar/panel controls? Thanks

I have a Clarion Hide Away Marine unit.

To answer your question about the display, The display up front is still there, but does not display info from the stereo. It still displays odometer ,trip and other functions, just nothing to do with the stereo, which the limited info, nonscrolling text sucked anyways.

The control unit for my Clarion is mounted on my Helibars and also includes the display.IMG_20150801_202723_968_zpsbv0g9ffm.jpgIMG_20150801_203431_849_zpsn6yuzibv.jpg

I don't use the regular handlebar controls due to the location of the Clarion control/display unit.

To hook up the handlebar control switches would be doable, but I haven't felt the need to.
There is a Rockford unit coming out in June that has steering wheel inputs, which would make wiring up the handlebar controls simpler. It also has a full color display. DOn't know that I will spend the money just for that though. It will cost more than twice what I paid for the Clarion.

I don't use any of the left panel switches on the fairing. I have some ABS plastic that I had planned to make a blank panel for that space, but I haven't been motivated enough yet...

Next winter.I'm planning to paint her, and who knows, The gloves will be off then.

OK...so with the Sena SM10 Dual Stream Bluetooth transmitter, can you get the bike stereo? Or does the TPCROMEER USB Wireless Bluetooth Stereo Music Receiver Adapter do the trick?

The Sena Bluetooth transmitter plays the bike stereo through the Sena Helmet speakers.
The TCPROMO USB receiver plays the cell phone via Bluetooth to the bike stereo and speakers.

Sometimes you want it both ways.
