Found a new back rest for me on E-Bay for $170.00, easy installation instructions, took about 45 minutes. Was a bit apprehensive about cutting my seat (like most of you) but took the chance by following the instructions. Feels great!

What is the backrest mounted on?
It mounts to the underside of the actual seat.
