Plug and play, connection is under left cubby. You do have to drill the hole in the cubby though.
I actually did it today. Very eaśy. And I'm a putz with that kind off stuff. Yes it plugs right in to the plug next to the auxiliary plug..
Very easy Kale.
Perhaps we all could do a bike tech day where we share and install stuff like the 12 volt cubby plug, ect.

Be careful pushing in the pins that hold the cubby. I was a little too forceful and heard the tink tink tink as the pin fell into the goldwing underbelly. Had to buy a new one. Also the side trim is a lot easier to remove if you lift out the cubby first. The trim will pop off as the cubby comes out.
