Taking the bike to the dealer...for lightning repairs

Today is the day that I need to take my bike into the dealer, for the Insurance Estimate of repairs that need to be done due to the lightning strike, and to leave the bike with them to have these repairs done. The bike is going to South Bound Honda, Lakewood, WA., which is owned by one of our forum members. There are closer Honda dealers to where I live...but NONE better.

Have them add a turbo while they have it.

I am glad you have a competent dealer you trust. I'm sure nobody knows how much is affected just yet. Expect the worst, hope for the best.

Could there be a new paint job in the offing?

I picture a realistic picture of lighting bolts coming out of the sky !!!

Lightning look paint jobs used to be pretty popular a few years ago. A little over done but it would be really be justified on Miles bike! Maybe a two tone, accent stripe or panels?

I am going to have a local artist paint the new helmet, with some type of lightning images on it, but not overdone. I agree that it can easily be overdone, so it just needs to show the image, without going crazy, like...adding 31.4159 punds of chrome to your new bike, and then having to polish it everyday.

This is the local guy I will have do my helmet: http://www.screwydesigns.com/about.html

If I like what I see, I may have him do the entire bike, but...NOT with lightning scenes all over it. Maybe a Honda Titanium color paint, with muted Black Frost ghost flames on the front half.

    If it were me .....

I would have the artist paint a drawing that looked 3D.

The image would look like a hole that you could see inside with the skin pulled back, skeleton shattered and the brain exposed with a little bit of smoke and a couple of tiny sparks coming out.

    I know, I know, I know ...... I'm a sick puppy but I like 3D drawings.
