I assumed both go "behind" the badge... as the products neither change the size of the badge or its recess in either case.
Does anyone have some close-up pictures that show the difference?

AAAAHHHHhhhhhh....... Now I see. Totally understand the difference.
I think I prefer a slight glow from the back and edges.
