Everything I have ever read says to never use wax on matte paint. After 26,000 miles my bikes finish seems as new with nothing but non ammonia cleaners being used on it. I have no experience with wax on matte paint just what I have read.

Yep, I've read the same and most of it comes from folks selling products 'geared' for matte finishes. The painter of my Charger did a few matte clear coat cars and showed me that wax is just fine as well as the specialty products. The matte clear coat won't be hurt by wax. I don't wax my matte silver and don't plan on it. I'm just contending the alarmists that fret that waxing matte clear coats is going to bring black rain.

I actually use tire foam to clean my bike on a big wash. Wet the bike, spray some tire foam and use a large detail brush to dislodge dirt. The foam escorts the dirt right off. Tire foam is an old school way to detail and clean an engine bay. Dilutes greases and dirt and let's it run off with a gentle spray of water.

Ammonia and water works well on windshields and the plastic fascia on my autos. Bugslide works pretty good. It's a little hard to get it to shine up. Once you get the bugs off, you have to go over it again with a clean cloth and slide again, otherwise you're just smearing the goo around.
