Some people just have the means to buy a new bike about as often as they change underwear. More power to them. That isn't my case or I'd have me a Ducati Duavil and, and, and

I've got my Valkyrie at 16 years old , it still makes me grin ear to ear. My F6B is about as close to an all around do lots of things bike as you can get. I imagine that if Honda really did a number on a really new and improved Gold Wing, I'd have some lust and contemplation for how to make it mine, but there are still plenty of things I envision doing to this bike. Each one will freshen it up and provide me entertainment to not let this bike get old. My next big thing will definitely be suspension.

I bought m bike used. The prior owner was an older guy. HIs wife rode with him. The two-up with no reverse was a bit much for him considering the weight of this bike. The wife wanted the rear seat comfort of the full Wing.
I'm a big guy, but I'm in my mid 50's. I hopped on this bike and rode from Jacksonville,Fl. to Memphis Tenn. effortlessly. That's where this bike shines. Power is more than enough. Speed tops out at 125. It's comfortable at that speed until you catch a cross-wind, then it's scary !
    I have 2 complaints:
    1) It's weight. No problem when riding but go to a gas stop. The time when you thought you heard the kickstand spring down when it was actually springing back up and you lean the bike over. Good luck holding up 850 lbs. with one leg. Also make sure you back it in to any inclined parking spaces. You'll have a hard time backing off of grass also.....and I'm 6'3". Shorter legged people will have even more of a challenge.
    2) Difficult routine maintenance. Changing oil is easy. Changing a simple bulb can involve popping-off panels that you had better pop off right or you break the little tabs on the panels. You have to dismantle half the body and dash to change an air filter !

In conclusion, this is my first and last bike with a full fairing and full bodywork. My next bike will have a windshield and top-opening hard bags..........PERIOD !

    A million reasons...4 everything

The F6B is a great machine. For some, it may be too great. In other words, some people like the events that transpire while experiencing a high maintenance machine - during a journey. Remember, it's the journey not the destination...the grave.
i've had many bikes, and still have a number of them, which are being sold off slowly.

The F6B is a world class machine. So are many other machines. Some seem to have a heart, some are just a machine. It's an intimate relationship. I wouldn't own this bike if i had just one. If you are running at a higher rate of speed, stop and go in heat, riding in cold or in any poor weather for more than 10 hrs a day, especially multiple days, this bike is tops. It's best to be in shape to deal with the weight.

One of my other rides is a '69 shovel in a '57 frame w/handgammer on a manual lid. High maintenance. Another is a 100+ HP FXR with police bags - love those bikes, well the list goes on. As i whittle down the herd, I see my life go by. I gave a lot of other options up to ride. I didn't watch much TV, "go to the game", play golf or join the Elks. I met a lot of peculiar people (I guess Im one) & found my habit to be excessive...as demonstrated by responses i received, when i mentioned the number of bikes i've owned at a previous writing. It was my life, not a hobby. I'm glad i lived it. Now to why people sell??? it is a pain, as someone mentioned to change an art filter and some of the other things mentioned, for sure. This is 2016. Things change. No more pouring used oil on the garage dirt floor to make it hard. No more riding your woman with her feet in the saddlebags, no more adjusting the lifters every couple of days, or the five hundred mile runs that took3 days, not to mention what a cross country trip was like.

I miss all that stuff. That's why i'm not selling the hard tail, many others would, and they wouldn't be wrong. It's a different day. It reallly depends on your needs and your Spirit. The F6B does what it was designed to do very well.

Unfortunately, I see them all weekend long especially now when the weather gets cooler. You would figure with all the heat those waffle irons throw off you could wear shorts in the dead of the winter and not feel it. Nothing funnier than seeing Captain Bluebeard all leathered up ordering a kale salad and an apple/carrot juice.

The guy who invented the first wheel was an idiot -
the guy who invented the second one... he was the genius!

I love the anti establishment Harley guys, the rebels, that go and spend $80.00 each on Harley branded tshirts so they can prove their independence and resistance to being controlled by corporate America.

$80.00?? I thought HD stood for "hundred dollars"! Harley is #1 at marketing, by far.
