Many guys ride just to be cool and must have the latest and what's perceived to be the greatest. And that my son explains the HD success story. It's mostly marketing.

Humanity suffers from the old ad-dig "The grass is always greener on the other side". Unfortunately, we too soon forget what we stepped into when we got there and continue to look at the next other side.

To add to my first response and to OP, I like my 6B very much and have no plans to sell it. I like the idea it will be discontinued, being unique in community that values uniqueness is an added bonus for me.

I receive more interest and admiration from other rides than I would have predicted. It's a capable, versatile bike for one or two up riding. Nimble enough for me to ride in any traffic scenario.

I don't regret the purchase in any manner. Just the opposite, I look forward to riding it as often as possible. It's not a perfect bike, or the best bike ever, but it is worth the price seeing as reasonably priced units are available.

    Enjoy your ride

Some people just have the means to buy a new bike about as often as they change underwear. More power to them. That isn't my case or I'd have me a Ducati Duavil and, and, and

I've got my Valkyrie at 16 years old , it still makes me grin ear to ear. My F6B is about as close to an all around do lots of things bike as you can get. I imagine that if Honda really did a number on a really new and improved Gold Wing, I'd have some lust and contemplation for how to make it mine, but there are still plenty of things I envision doing to this bike. Each one will freshen it up and provide me entertainment to not let this bike get old. My next big thing will definitely be suspension.

I bought m bike used. The prior owner was an older guy. HIs wife rode with him. The two-up with no reverse was a bit much for him considering the weight of this bike. The wife wanted the rear seat comfort of the full Wing.
I'm a big guy, but I'm in my mid 50's. I hopped on this bike and rode from Jacksonville,Fl. to Memphis Tenn. effortlessly. That's where this bike shines. Power is more than enough. Speed tops out at 125. It's comfortable at that speed until you catch a cross-wind, then it's scary !
    I have 2 complaints:
    1) It's weight. No problem when riding but go to a gas stop. The time when you thought you heard the kickstand spring down when it was actually springing back up and you lean the bike over. Good luck holding up 850 lbs. with one leg. Also make sure you back it in to any inclined parking spaces. You'll have a hard time backing off of grass also.....and I'm 6'3". Shorter legged people will have even more of a challenge.
    2) Difficult routine maintenance. Changing oil is easy. Changing a simple bulb can involve popping-off panels that you had better pop off right or you break the little tabs on the panels. You have to dismantle half the body and dash to change an air filter !

In conclusion, this is my first and last bike with a full fairing and full bodywork. My next bike will have a windshield and top-opening hard bags..........PERIOD !

Unfortunately, I see them all weekend long especially now when the weather gets cooler. You would figure with all the heat those waffle irons throw off you could wear shorts in the dead of the winter and not feel it. Nothing funnier than seeing Captain Bluebeard all leathered up ordering a kale salad and an apple/carrot juice.

The guy who invented the first wheel was an idiot -
