Man I wish I had sprung for a Sena

I have the Uclear HBC200 and really just want to bluetooth the Honda radio output for the AM/FM/Weather. I have a USB stick in the saddlebag for a load of songs. Any suggestions?

It has the mini plug on one end that is shaped like a needle and a cigaret lighter plug on the other.

Looks like it can be affected affected by temperature. I don't ride in 131 degree's, but I could see riding in 14F or less sometimes (as long as the roads are clear and I have my heated gear on)

    Operating Temperature: -10˚C – 55˚C (14°F – 131°F)

When you connect this thing to the intercom cable on the bike; does that cable also recharge it as you are using it? Does the interconnecting cable have that ability?

    Cool Electrical Question

Can I cut off the cigarette lighter plug and add a USB plug to charge this unit?

I think there are 4 wires in the USB...2 data, One + one -, or one 5 volt and one 12 volt. Does anyone know which wire and how this could be done ?
If possible please post wiring schematic .

    Temp is a non-issue.

No...there is a cable for the intercom and another cable for charging .

Negative, 4 wires, 2 data, uno groundo and eins +funf volts. Can you check that cig plug in your car with voltmeter to see if it dropping the voltage from 12 to 5? On the Sena website it says there is a USB charge and data capability on that Freewire.

If they are the same you might want to get the older model. It was very expensive also when I first saw it a few years ago.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't use it anymore since my new Sena 20S has FM radio.
I originally used the Sena dual stream for FM radio only / you may want it for a second rider to share the same music via bluetooth from the bikes stereo.

First turn up volume from the device supplying the sound, also if you press the large button
In the middle of the sena sm 10 two times it will boost the volume.
