Hello to the group I have been reading and reading about different windshields and other farkles and the general commets about the F6B prior to buying which was a great aid so thank you all very much. Owning several Goldwings I was already sold on the drivetrain but needed information about how it was changed ( the motorcycle itself) and the impact it had when ending up in the F6B.

First let me introduce myself and give you my background. I am 70 years old live in central IL and have owned far too many motorcycles since my first which was a Cushman Eagle scooter in my teens. I have owned over 50 bikes and probably more. I just traded a Yamaha Super Tenere adventure type bike which I owned for a little over 2 years for a left over 13 F6b deluxe. Other recent bikes range from a GL1800, Yamaha FJ1300, a Suzuki 1000 V-Strom and a 650 Strom. I have ridden in 48 states, Canada & every state in Mexico including the Baja and sailed overnight on a 850 ft ocean going ferry over the Sea Of Cortz leaving the Baja and landing 14 hours later in Mexico. While riding in Mexico I rode everything from a GL1500 to a KLR650 and the V- Strom.

So enough about me, now my comments after riding it less than 100 miles since trucking it home from the dealer with much snow and ice on the roads prevented me from riding it home. Btw it is the 1st bike I have owned I didn't ride home so I am sure I am aging ! I think it might have the best seat on it of any bike I have owned. The speedometer is dead on at 60-70 mph again the best I have owned. Handing is just wonderful it pulls much like the FJ1300 I owned but much more comfortable. Power is everywhere and always on tap. The ride quality IMHO is better than I remeber my 2006 GL1800 being. Especially the front end doesn't seem as harsh. The windshield as most of us agree is w-a-y to short. I sat on a new 2015 GL1800 today with the windshield set to it lowest setting and that seems about perfect. I am only 5' 7 but tall from the waist up for that height and I can look over the top of the screen no problem. I measured it and it was 17 inches from the dash to the top of the screen measuring on the dash where Clearview does. I will close here for now but again it is exciting to not only be an owner but a member here. Thanks to the administer and all the members for the information I have already gained here.
