Anyone have some solid recommendations for a radar detector for the F6? I would prefer to know of someone who has done one, brand, and maybe cheapest place to buy it.
Thanks,

Portable or Permanent ?
I run an older portable Blue Escort Passport 9500ix Radar/Laser Detector between the bikes and cars. Don't have the laser jammer.

I saw that one and was interested. Also saw something about an Escort RedLine? What would be the differences?

Not familiar with the RedLine, but from their website:
https://www.escortradar.com/redline/The Redline is the most sensitive dash model available on the market but it does not have the GPS features of the Passport 9500ix. The Passport 8500 X50 Black, the Passport iQ and the Passport 9500ix have similar radar and laser performance, but the 8500 X50 does not include the GPS features. The Passport iQ combines radar/laser detection and a full GPS navigation system in one convenient model.
The GPS feature is nice because it warns you of known upcoming traffic hazards from it's upgradeable database (e.g. speed cams, redlight cams, etc.). You can also mark your own locations that are not in the database.
The GPS also supports a learning function. It uses the GPS coordinates to learn "false alarms", marks them and doesn't report them again.
Too bad the RedLine and the 9500ix doesn't have both features.
Many years ago, we would run 2 older passports on long road trips (one facing forwards and one facing backwards). The one that went off first told us if the road "hazard" was in front or behind us.
Thanks for the great info. I do appreciate it!

I have the Valentine 1 on my 6. Had it for many years on several bikes. I like the V-1 because of the arrows, see their ads in automobile mags. I also have a Escort 9500 I run in my 4 wheeler. I prefer the V-1 only because of the arrows. Whatever you buy be sure it has a earplug jack on it. Again the V-1 has a special device you will need to buy too get a earplug Jack. Total is around $450 not cheap but it is well over 12 years old and still support by the factory for repair or firmware updates. Too date it has never needed either and being on a motorcycle is a ruff life for a detector.

Not side by side but I have used them enough to get a feel for what might be an edge. The V-1 false a lot more. It has an edge only on lazer but falls a little short on KA. The K-band they are about equal. Over all like I said I like the V-1 only because of the arrows. Several times it has saved me when a Tropper was sneaking up behind me. One time at night on a rural state highway riding with a bunch of other riders one at least who had another brand than the Valentine he ignored the Tropper sneaking up behind us and my V-1 kept pointing to KA coming in from behind. The other riders blew by me after a couple of miles and it wasn't long here the cop came, flew by me ( running 55) and 5 mi down the highway had the whole sham damn bunch stopped. That was priceless
