I always travel with my heated liner and light heated gloves.
Do you think any of this will be needed on rides at the rally?
A few times was glad I had it when I rode through some of the passes.

I am not currently in Colorado but i do visit there often and will be at the rally. This time of year you will probably not need your heated gear. Like you I always have mine in the bike and I will have it during the rally even though I don't think I will need it. the picture in my signature block was taken at Red Mountain Pass in mid May 2016 so you never know.

Very unlikely heater gear will be needed. This time of the year cooler temps at the top of the passes usually feels really good.
You’ll want to have your rain gear, but let’s keep our fingers crossed it won’t be needed.
Might want to bring a ball bat to keep the hail balls off of ya

With no heated gear there is more room for the tuff
they sell in Colorado.
Just got back here to Colorado from Yellowstone. We had a few 40 degree nights and some cold nights back here at elevation like Leadville but you should be fine with no heated gear in Cortez area.
