Hi
has anyone used a reasonable shipping company lately?
I`m getting quotes of around $1000 for a 475 mile ride for an F6B...Higher than I got for a car from Palm Beach Fl.
Uship says they`re average cost for this should be around $300.
But I`ve never shipped a vehicle so not sure what is reasonable.
I could go and pick it up , but it would be a long day with a borrowed or rented trailer. Any suggestions?
Soon to be a F6B rider... Thanks Thomas
You will get quotes all over the board. I live in Florida and bought mine in Knoxville Tenn. Quotes were crazy. I said why not make it an adventure. Bought a one way plane ticket for $70, seller picked me up at the airport and rode it home 700 plus miles.
Not so much to save money but for the adventure. That being said....$1000 is crazy, $300 sure.
That bike was made for a 475 mile ride.
I have used Keyboard Transport for MA to FL and WI to FL for a Kawa V1700 and my F6B. $650 for the WI to FL distance April 2017. Don't hurt to check them out. 270-737-5797. They are in Kentucky I believe. Also have a website you can google.
I agree about the ride, but.....the time to do it is the problem... I could drive out there and pick it up and still might , but to have it delivered reasonably would be better.......Thanks for your input!
yeah shippers are insane lately. When I bought an Indian from Texas to Idaho it was $500, but the F6b to get 400 miles to me from Oregon was gonna be $1000, so I checked the weather, booked a one way flight and rode it home for $150 plane ticket some gas, best ride of my life.
I`ll give it a few days for other shippers offers. Then i`ll decide if its worth the trip and ride or trailer it back to CT. Weather is getting erratic this time of year.... I`ll welcome any other comments but I will get it home soon so I can start adding stuff and riding until the snow flies! I do have 2 other cycles in the garage...
