Well I am a bit of a fatty. But I'll try the hand wings first and see how it goes.
I'm 6'3" 250 and don't need anymore than the hand wings, I ride home every night after midnight, rode last year up to Christmas day. But I also have heated grip on my 16 deluxe. But with my cold weather gear on I was fine. I've been ridding that past 14 years down to 30 degrees at night, 35 miles home between 55 and 75 mph on the highway. Had a 1200 and a 1500 with the lower wings on, but my F6B is fine with just the hand wings for me.
Hey Bob, I'm just north of you and have them on my bike. This mornings commute up 395 was in 31 degree (not factoring wind chill) air. The Bakers + grip warmers (stock) and a good set of winter gloves had my hands toasty.

I will also vouch for the Baker wings.
Only thing I will add is that I experience some minor helmet buffeting with the hand wings upon. My compromise has been to keep the right side open to keep my throttle hand cool.
I do use the foot deflectors, and they work well in cold weather as air does hit your feet, directed under the valve covers. Also, they keep your feet dry in the rain. Only problem is that they are fragile, but I have found that Max-1 glue will repair them.
