Hey there all,

I looked and only found one post that was last posted to in 2019.

After much thought I would like to add a DashCam to my F6B. I know there are many more out there now but has anyone used or considered the Vantrue F1 System?
Any input would be helpful...

Morning Casper96, I've just started looking myself and this one that you posted really has my attention. I'll be curious to see what other responses show up. Right now I like what I see in the Venture F1. Thanks for putting the question out there.

Farside, yeah I have looked at a few and this one looks like it will be better than most. I had one of the guys I ride with say if he had to buy another one it would be the Vantrue. He found it after he ordered what he has now.

I pulled the seat the other day and I think the brainbox( as I call it ) will fit under the passenger part of the seat comfortably.

I’ve used dash cams on my bikes since 2014. I’ve used expensive cameras, like the Vantrue, which has very good ratings, and the current one I bought a few days ago, a $100 Vsysto, which has similar ratings to the Vantrue. I just replaced the one in the install video I posted as it took a dump after 3 years. It was a BlueSkySea A12, a $150 dash cam. I’ve never gotten more than 3 years out of any dash cam. Not sure if they succumb to vibration, the heat or just typical Chinese manufacturing showing its’ (lack of) quality. Best of luck with yours, it seems to be well made with a lot of features.

The one you said you bought the Vsysto looks a lot like the Vantrue. The only major difference I see is that both cameras on yours are 1080p. I am going to look more into this one though just to cover all my bases.

I have been using the Vantrue F1 for about a year. The video is remarkably clear and the unit has been flawless. I mounted mine inside a saddlebag. My only complaint is the process of downloading video via a wireless connection to your phone. It is excruciatingly slow and hard to use, so I typically just pull the SD card from the unit for transfer.

F6 how did you run it into your saddlebag and where did you mount it? As all the directions I have seen for installing the brain says the top should face upward to the sky. Thanks for the info on using the unit as well. This does seen to be one of the better ones I have looked at. A guy in the Club I am in says he wished he would have seen this one before he bought the one he just installed on his bike. He has used a couple over the years and has said the Vantrue seems to be the better of them all. Also how/where did you mount your cameras? I was thinking front just off to the right of center of the fairing, and the rear on the underside of my rear rack( OEM Honda ).

I drilled a hole in the backside of the bag near the frame and routed the wiring inside. The unit is held to the front top corner of the left bag with some 3M Dual Lock tape. Thus far it has not presented any functional issues in this location. I mounted the front camera as you described, under the front to the left of center. The rear is mounted under the trunk I have mounted but your proposed position should work fine as well.

Here are some pics. I have yet to figure out why some inserted pics rotate and others do not. Let me know if I can assist further.

I like the way you have that( my kid recommended mounting it in the bag like you did, but I'm weary of the bag leaking ). That's where my kid recommended putting it. I wonder if I can make it work in the right bag instead. Looks about the way I was going to mount the cameras. Thanks for the info on your way to put it on the bike.

The right bag would be just as easy. I went left because it already had the hole for my audio equipment. I have not had any leaks. I used an appropriately sized grommet and then sealed it with silicone caulk.
