I bought a ‘16 Deluxe new… even then it was extremely rare to see an F6B on the road here in central Ohio. I can honestly say have only seen maybe a half dozen ever on the road other than mine. Haven’t seen one for years on the road or used at dealers.
I still get head turns and stairs from people that probably have never seen one before. The F6B really is a beautifully designed and executed motorcycle.. perfect marriage of function and form, with the emphasis on function.

Nah, it's a long story. The first No Frills Rally was in 2020, and was an alternative to the one planned for that year in the eastern part of the country. I called it the NFR because it wasn't going to be like a lot of other rallies at that time, with no t-shirts, swag, pins, etc... We held the rally riding out of Montrose. 2021 was in AR, with a home base in Russelville. 2022 started and ended in Montrose again, but we looped through UT, and AZ as well. We lost 2wheelsfor me on that ride, as he passed away just north of Bryce Canyon, as we were saddling up for the day's ride to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. We had reservations at the Lodge that day, (a lodge destroyed by fire this year), and after Mike's death, we continued on, all agreeing that he was probably looking down on us, wondering why we didn't continue riding. If you were at Cortez, Mike was the big guy with the even bigger seat, and the even bigger laugh. Loved that guy. 2023 was Montana, and we were joined by Mike's widow Karen, who took some of us up on our offer to spread some of Mike's ashes, at a beautiful spot on the Going to the Sun Road. Sad time for sure, but Karen absolutely loved it, and told us she loved meeting some of the guys Mike talked about riding with every year. 2024 was the Smokies, with a week riding out of Maggie Valley, NC, and just a couple of weeks before Helene blew through and destroyed some of the roads were had enjoyed. 2025 was in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and just a bit of Canada.

Over the years, the group has slimmed down, either from death, disinterest, or getting out of riding. Dwight has moved from AZ to TX, gave his F6B to his son, but last I heard, has it back, while he is searching for another bike. The name has unofficially changed from the No Frills Rally to Mild Hogs, even though none of us are on Harleys, and if you heard us verbally tear each other apart, (all in good fun), "mild" is not a word that would come to mind. After the 2020 year, I gave up on officially organizing anything on social media. The folks that ride are people that we've ridden with in the past. I don't know what Mild Hogs '26 will entail, or even if it happens. I've been kicking around the idea of doing a ride in Vietnam, on a rental bike, so that might take the place of it. That being said, a ride/rally could certainly be organized on the FB page, I'm just not doing it.

I did attend the 2018 rally (Cortez, Co) but have given up the Iron Butt life.

Did you get on the FB group? I have admitted a few in the past few days, but not sure if you're one of them, as FB profiles generally have actual names, not aliases.

I'm still riding. May be selling her soon though. I have been developing (sadly) new problems with my mid spine and it's making life difficult to enjoy, especially when I'm riding. Been riding a lot locally as best I can. Did an Iron Butt on it back in 2021; my last great ride for distance. That did kick my butt.

Still running a dark side, and although maintenance is becoming a chore for me 65 year old carcass, I still do it and enjoy that. Just put new brakes on her and flushed the brake fluid.
