Chop,
tried that one already.
Once I got moving the drinks kept spraying my wife in the wind when it came out of the top of the can.
would get upset seeing me smoking my pipe or a cigar while riding .....
For the drink holder I use the one Ram makes. I use a touch lighter when I am going down the interstate cruise control works great to free up both hands. The cigarette doesn't last too long but it saves me a stop on the road

I have used several types as I like coffee and I travel long distances during the summer months. This is what I currently use. $19.95 for two. I use it because it holds cups of coffee even in paper cups nicely. I remove the clamp, take out the top allen head that holds the brake set up in place. I went to Lowes found a bolt that was same size and thread and bought a couple of different lengths. I also had an assortment of spacers to place on the bolt to make sure the holder stood upright. It fits nicely and holds coffee cups, small Powerades and 16 oz bottles of water. I did use a drill to counter sink the head of the bolt so it did not interfere with putting the drink in the holder. I live in Florida and during July and August I often take a bottle of water with me. Over the last few months I have found several insulated cups that also fit securely in the holder.
