I just cannot spend $500+ for a seat and I was wondering if any of you have had his/ her stock seat re-shaped on F6B.
I have done it on my previous bike (by Mean City Cycles) and I was VERY happy with their work. But I just don't want to ship my seat out to them (back East) and I'm actually going to see a local seat guy in my area this afternoon.
If any of you have modified stock seat, I'd love to see some pictures of it.

I have wondered about adding a good quality sheeps skin. Just hard to find the right size and a way to strap it on.

I have a sheepskin pad that I got from Aerostich. It comes with a multitude of straps & hooks. I think you could fit it on just about any seat.Originally Posted by zeus661
My favorite addition to my stock seat is a "wooden bead" cover. I can ride that for hours. I thought the MC specific ones were a bit spendy so I bought one meant for cars at Wally World for about $10. I then proceeded to remove rows of beads until I got the shape & size I wanted. Then I laced the perimeter with "weed eater" line for strength. Works for me.

I had a Harley seat done by Mean City, they do great work. I did have my stock F6B seat modified by a local lady who also does good work. I was much happier with it after she replaced the foam in it but I gave it to a friend when I bought my Ultimate.
Gel pads added can help as well...

If this was aimed at my post about the beaded cover, it will have to remain without pics as I don't own a digital camera and probably never will. I will however be at the rally in Franklin. See ya there?
Had a 2002 VTV 1800 C which had a "hard" seat! Took it to "Butt Buffer" and had a gel pad installed. I was fortunate enough to watch the owner perform the operation which included "hogging out" portions of the form and reshaping with a disc grinder. The end result was a more comfortable ride and lowering of the seat height by almost 2".
Butt Buffer usually has a tent/set-up at many major bike events i.e. Bike Week, Americade etc. where they will modify you existing seat to your liking. If memory serves me right, the cost was approximately $250.00. They use to have a remove/ship/return program. Not sure if that service is still available.
