What was your first bike?

Anyone have a Bridgestone? the lack of a large dealer network put them out of the motorcycle business and back to making tires as the main business.

Up here Sears Canada was the first and only retailer of Bridgestone motorcycles. They sold them out of their automotive dep't. They didn't last long, a couple of years, and then Sears picked up Yamaha. This was the mid 60's. You're right, they were well made bikes.

Honda VT700C, believe I had a '83 or '84. Bought it used in 1989, taking up riding to impress a chick.

Rode it for a few years and sold it, didn't seriously take up riding until 2011. On my 3rd bike since returning to riding (2011 Ducati Multistrada, 2007 Honda VFR800 plus my F6B). I had a great time on that bike but I wouldn't buy a used one for old time's sake. It would sit in the garage and I would never ride it.

First dirt bike was a 1970 Yamaha 80 Mini MX.
First street bike was a 1976 Honda CB550.

Got a 1947 Harley servi car (or servi vehicle I think some called them) at the age of 8. The second day, I flipped it trying to climb an embankment. Got a paddling I still remember, lost my Harley & wound up with an ancient Allstate scooter instead!

I bought my first bike after joining the service in 1977. It was a XS 400. I mounted windshield and a AM/FM cassette and CB radio rode it from Biloxi to ft. Lauderdale many times but the longest was from ft. lauderdale to whicita falls Texas. Here is a pic.
