Here in NE Ohio the roads get salted for the snow. Usually it gets turned to dust after a few days and the roads dry out. Once the salt dust has a chance to get blown off the roads I am out there on the bike.
Cold doesn't matter as much as clear and dry roads.
Gonna have to check what the wind chill is when it's 4 degrees F. and I'm doing 75 MPH on the expressway.

I found a new wind chill factor and an old one. New says-30, old says -46.
Translated that means colder than a well diggers ass😎

I can't imagine even wanting to ride when it's much below 45*. But, I've been on two wheels for 59 yrs, so that urgency has long passed.

4 degree's this morning here. Much of the northern half of the country is in a serious cold spell now.

Of course (as usual) Maryland DOT has dumped a metric shit ton of salt all over the place and there is no inclement weather requiring it. Nothing but billowing salt dust everywhere... and giant piles of hardened salt everywhere on the roads.

Bikes are staying in the sheds... that's for sure.

At anything below 10 degrees the display just flashes "_ _ _".
    Anybody else notice this?
Dang y'all, that might be a hint that it's just too cold

I guess not everyone realizes that lots of places exist where it does not get that cold, ever! Rock salt is only used on margaritas with year round riding and even a very low cost of living so your retirement dollars last longer. No state tax on income and no tax on groceries. Pick up trucks and guns are common and most vote conservative. Some call this the Redneck Riviera. Best beaches anywhere and mountains (AL) and casinos (MS) are close.

Got to pick a good spot, many places it is expensive to live or have other bad things like crime. I like the northern gulf coast myself but some nice places in central Florida also but watch out for the high cost of living. The great and retirees have affected the cost down that way. The good beaches are from Dauphin Island AL to almost Apalachee Bay FL with the best being between Pensacola Beach and Panama City Beach. The temps on the coast on average run lower in the summer and higher in the winter than even a little bit inland. Lots of military bases around here which also helps the economy.

Do all years of the 6 have temp gauges? I've never noticed on my 2015.

With key on press "INFO" button above key for temp readout. Not accurate sitting still with engine hot.
