    Upcoming rides

Just my "summer rides" check-in, no big deal...

Leaving a week from tomorrow to ride the full length of the Natchez Trace Parkway, north to south. I live within 2 miles of the northern terminus, and have ridden the north 50 miles dozens of times...but never the full length. Something I've always wanted to do...although I've heard that the best of the Trace is the north part...

The following week I ride to one of my most favorite places, Bryson City, NC, for the Smokey Mountain Ride-In, put on by Gary Baker and others from the GL1800riders.com forum. I'll be there three days, and get in around 300 miles each day...in some of the most beautiful scenery in the country. For sure, hitting the Dragon and Cherohala on the way there!

Then of course, the F6B rally in Russellville...another great place to ride!

It's a long shot, but I might be able to squeeze in a few days in Montrose, CO, prior to the Russellville rally...depends on work, spousal unit, etc.

So if you see a matte silver with modulating headlights along these paths, it just might be me!

I'm leaving the 10th to join a group of VRCC people in Knoxville,TN. We are going to ride all back roads up though the mountains from TN into VA and the Back of the Dragon and back into WV headed to Morgantown ,WV for INZANE XVI . We're leaving Knoxville on the 11th and will stay in Lewisburg,WV Saturday night. Leaving SUnday morning , the 12th to arrive at Morgantown,WV later. Should be a great way to start off a great week of riding and good ole fun. Just a few more days.

    West Coast Ride

Wife and I tore one off today, literally.
Took the Street Glide to the Oregon, Washington coast today and had a great ride and day. Weather is stellar...
Doesn't matter what make you ride, just ride.

I'm leaving sometime next week to be in Denver (Estes) on 18 June for a wedding. Not sure of my route out. Who knows?

Leaving sometime after the wedding to be in Valley Forge, PA on 26 June for a seminar. Headed back below the Mason-Dixon on 1 July.

Have phone, plastic, personal lead dispenser; will travel.

We did almost the exact same ride last year, up the Icefields Parkway to Jasper, then back. Unfortunately there was a fatal accident just ahead of us on the Icefields Parkway, and we got stuck for about 6 hours, causing us to miss out on taking the Jasper Tram ride...the good news was, we were stranded right in front of the Lodge so we had shelter, food, etc.

If you would like the .gpx files from our route, send a PM with your email address. We found some great roads up there by using the "Companion" books and maps.
