Its amazing the difference in rates from state to state. What's affordable in one state is out of sight in another. Another thing that bugs me is like I have Farmers for my House , Truck , Car , and Jeep. They don't even really want talk about my two bikes. And yet I shop them every year , and I can't beat them on the auto and house coverage. By the same token I can't afford Allstate for the house and autos but can't beat them on the bikes. I would like to have it all with one carrier but it would just cost me more money.

I have Erie for house, three cars, two sleds, camp. They are more expensive than others on the cars and house, but cheaper on the sled insurance ($150 each, for full coverage). Others are often double that.

Erie doesn't write bike policies; they outsource to Progressive, which, ironically, is more expensive than buying it from Progressive directly.

Not a lot of things in upstate NY are cheaper than other places, but motor vehicle insurance sure is. We fully insure three cars with 250/500k liability, tons of SUM/IM, PIP, collision, comp, etc. for $1800 per year. As mentioned, two bikes and ATV, two of which are less than 3 years old, fully covered, is $285 per year with Progressive.

$370 per year for full coverage on two bikes thru Allstate here in central Florida. I consider this a great rate due to having a 12 month riding season unlike some parts of the country that have considerably shorter riding seasons. I do not however purchase road service with my policy due to the fact that I have the Honda Protection Plan (extended warranty) and I have road service thru them.

After spending the past week getting quotes from every insurance I could ever remember even hearing of, it would appear that Nationwide is probably going to get my policy.

My homeowners and cars are with State Farm, and their quote turned out to be one of the most expensive. Suits me, actually. I've only made one claim with them in over 25 years, for a total payout of about six hundred dollars. Starting at the next term period, they DOUBLED my car premiums. $370 a half to $800.

I am within spitting distance of 60. My wife, a year younger.
    Retired
    Homeowner
    No criminal, civil violations.
No traffic citations in over 40 years (includes the accident my wife had to cause us to make the one claim....and she isn't carried as an operator on the bike)

    For:

    50K/100K BI
    50K Property Damage
    50K Uninsured BI
    25K UMC
    Full Comp and Collision
    5K misc med
    New replacement
    Roadside asst
    $250 deductible across the board

    State Farm - $650/yr
    Allstate - $690/yr
    Liberty Mutual - $625/yr
    GEICO - $649
    Progressive - $630
    Nationwide - $588

Progressive and Nationwide also include vanishing deductibles
My State Farm agent tells me 'if you want roadside asst, join AAA (as if) if you want GAP, talk to your finance carrier'
Allstate and Geico on such matters: unknown

    State = Texas

Bodily Injury Liability $30,000 each person/$60,000 each accident
Property Damage Liability $25,000 each accident
    Personal Injury Protection Rejected
    Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Bodily Injury Rejected
    Uninsured Motorist Property Damage Rejected

    $750 deductible
    3k accessory coverage
    roadside assistance

    2014 F6 Deluxe (still financed) $274

I should look into adding uninsured/under insured injury I suppose.
Good credit, no accidents lately (none ever that were my fault).

I just got a slight shock.....full coverage on the 6 I'm buying. Put it this way, I haven't seen each line item, but the same coverage I had on my last bike....National Grange Insurance...never heard of them...$830 for a year. That's $300 more than my M109 was.

Probably because your address is in the Socialist Peoples Republic of Massachusetts. My brother lives there too, he tells me similar stories about his insurance and other day-to-day expenses. No idea how he affords it.

I guess we're numb to it, but was still surprised when I heard the figure. I'll go over it again, but it isn't stopping me! I want to move to TX someday, but have to grow a set and make it happen. I still sit down to pee.

I like Massachusetts. Mountains out west, Boston is a great city, the Cape, etc. Lots of neat stuff packed into a small state. Nearly everyone I knew in high school who left here and couldn't wait to get to Texas or Florida is back or planning to come back. The grass ain't always greener on the other side. Perhaps I am just a Socialist and appreciate these liberal states

I have close to the same coverage except I have a disappearing deductible which is down to $100 now. Live in Ocala Fl and Progressive charges me $450. I am going to try to switch my cars to them next time they are due.
