Questions - Need the F6B experts...

When giving the bike a thorough cleaning, I came across this thing (it has a hose running out of it) under the bags behind the rear wheel... (What is it?)

Also, I noticed a bump stop on the swingarm that looks like it has contacted the frame. This pic is not great, but I was hoping someone could check their bike to see if they see the same thing. The question is: Should I bump up the preload on the rear shock? I cannot remember bottoming out. I guess I am just being cautious. (It is that little round spot just beside the brake bleeder valve in the lower left of the pic.)

    Power Amplifier

I believe that box contains the audio system's power amplifier. If you have the Service Manual, it's shown on page 23-2 and the wiring diagram for it is on page 26-30.

Can't help you with the bump stop thing at the moment. Maybe somebody else here can.

    X2. Believe it's the amp.

Preload is usually set at 0 out of 34 clicks from the factory. 'Closer to the middle' of the range is where many end up.

Why does the amp need a drain hose?

My assumption would be,,, if any water got into it's outer protective housing,,, you'd want it to have an exit.

A simple hole in the bottom would be more of an entry point than an exit given the amps location, so slap a hose on it,,,

I don't envy the amp,,, sure glad I don't have to ride back there!

Thanks Swede. But look to the right of the bleeder way up on the frame...

Reedman--Are you sure that's not just a water spot? I looked at that area on my bike and could see several round spots where water had previously dripped and left similar looking spots .

If you can find the bump stop on the swingarm, then look up where it would contact the frame. I just want to know if anyone else can see contact/wear.

Just looked at mine. Don't know if that's a bumps top or just a cap because if you reach up there it's all plastic. I would think a bumpstop would want to contact metal.
