Miles you're on my wavelength on this. K&N...used on aircraft, cages, motorcycles, start out in life passing slightly (~3%) more fine doo than paper. Eventually they match paper's flow, and eventually they flow better than paper can while offering reasonable service intervals (via stacked debris vs plugged paper).Originally Posted by Miles
And that...is the reason why I change my OEM air filter AND the original spark plugs at 25,000 miles....and install a K&N air filter, and NGK Iridium spark plugs, so that I do not have to do either of those again until the bike hits 100,000 miles on it. I am VERY comfortable with leaving the K&N air filter and the NGK Iridium spark plugs in this bike for a total of 75,000 miles. Done it 3 times already on previous 1800 Wings, and I will do it again on this bike.
Ok, you got me on the Iridiums vs standard. They're my next changeout.
